Episodes you could do without...

I found "Patterns of Force" pretty unpleasant the last time I watched it.

That said, McCoy's utter confusion when he's thrown into a Nazi outfit and quickly beamed down into a closet where he finds Kirk & Spock dressed in SS uniforms is PRICELESS:

McCOY: (looks around the room) WHAT THE DEVIL'S GOING ON HERE???

(Come to think of it... I should post that on the McCoy-quote thread!)

Nimoy's expressions in that episode were priceless. There's this one moment in the cloakroom, when they try out the cannibalized communicator, and Uhura whines about the signal strength. Kirk shoots Spock a look, and Spock can only shrug, with a "Whatever" sorta expression.
I mean, after all they've been through to find the bits of the communicators, cobble one together, and find a safe place to use it —— I just bust out laughing every time.

Everytime I see the scene you described above, I think rather of the out-take of it from a Star Trek blooder reel: Where Spock and Kirk do what you descibe; but there's a 'stand in voice' for the Uhura line - a deep burly male voice that says:

"Enterprise, Lt. Uhura here."

And immediately everyone bursts out laughing hysterically.

Just watched The Alternative Factor again. Guess I've got to throw it into the pot with the rubbish. Apart from a poor storyline Robert Brown's acting was terrible. :(

:guffaw:I love that outtake!

Also, I love Plato's Stepchildren. I saw this thread, knew it'd be ragged on, and just had to come in here and say I think it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I showed the clip of Kirk acting like a horse to my two little cousins who know nothing of Star Trek, and they laughed themselves silly (as did I). Oh, Shatner, you are the best!

I tend to love the episodes that are goofy, though. If I had to get rid of one, I wouldn't miss The Cloud Minders very much. I also wasn't that impressed with What Are Little Girls Made Of?

I feel the same, but i've gotta admit, I find it kinda hard to watch any episode in which Spock has an uncharacteristic brush with romance. I mean, i'm well aware he's half human...but, especially in the third season, it's like the writers and directors just lost interest. And Nimoy and Shatner themselves have disagreed with those episodes. I still own the entire series though.
