Episodes with terrible edits

There is also a scene, I believe in TWOK, when Sulu is saying he's always excited about any opportunity to serve on the Enterprise, then it looks like he's about to say something else and they cut away. Doesn't bother me as bad as the one at the end of TMP, but it does bother me slightly. ;)

I believe that's the (in)famous edit where Sulu and Kirk were going to discuss Sulu taking over the Excelsior, which, according to Takei, was edited out at Shatner's request, and which Takei apparently harbors a grudge about to this day.

Honestly, I don't think anyone can blame Beltran for checking out as the show moved along. He didn't have a lot to work with (the nice way of putting it)...
I've met Beltran at a convention, and he was a nice guy, but he didn't have anything good to say about the Star Trek producers, or how they handled his character. The only thing he liked about the show was that he was paid very well.

Seems like a justified opinion. I know a lot of people around here love Voyager...but from a non-fan standpoint that show was just not good for the most part. Working on it must have been so annoying.

I don't think it's "horribly" but one thing that semed wrong to me was on the episode "In Purgatory's Shadow" although i really loved the episode, the scene were Garak is talking with Zyal and then Dukat appears out of nowhere bothers me. I mean... the scene was all going in that dramatic way, and i was sure Zyal would say something like "i love you Garak" and then, in the middle of that, Dukat just appears and grab Garak! I mean... Ok, it's a nice surprising turn of events and everything, but c'mon! It could at least had some more dramatic and surprising music wen Dukat attacked Garak! In my opinion that scene was kinda rushed... The episode was a work of art however. :)

Not technically an episode, but a movie: I was watching TNG's "First Contact" with my mother, who got very confused at the end of Cochrane's warp flight, when all of a sudden they were back on Earth getting ready for the Vulcan visit. That cut wasn't clear to her that enough time had elapsed for Cochrane to turn around, get back to earth, and land.

Well, I can kind of understand, but then again, they did a good job on giving the context so they wouldn't have to show the landing.
For example, they make it clear that warp flight happened in the morning, but the actual meeting with Vulcans happened at night.
Riker and Cocrane all look at Earth (after a great shot of the shit turning around.. from their POV) and Riker says it's about to get a whole lot bigger.

First Contact is an amazing movie from a pacing perspective (especially since the same writers did Generations, which had no pace at all). In some ways, the pacing is almost too fast, but the film is not afraid to take a moment here and there for a good character beat, but it's always moving forward.

Yeah, that's a pretty terrible piece of cutting. There's dozen ways they could have fixed it.
