Episodes which truly demonstrated VOY's potential ?

Probably Piller trying his best to circumvent the UPN mandates of a happy crew to the best of his power: make it a subplot instead of upfront and hope no one realized what he was doing.
I think that could have worked really well through the show's whole run. They could have kept Voyager doing its TOS/TNG wannabe thing and maintained that kind of continuity. And every one in a while, they could push a B-story arc into a A-story as pay off. They did that a bit in the first 2 seasons, but the writing was rarely up to a decent standard, so it never took off.

It's a pity.

"Distant Origin" and "Sacred Ground" are interesting episodes in season 3. For season 2 is "Innocence" because age reversing backwards. I always wondered how people are born... I wouldn't like to imagine a mother giving birth to old people! On season 1 I really enjoyed "Emanations" exploring death and afterlife, and "Faces" when B'lanna is split into two women, one Klingon and the other human. I'm watching Voyager all over again so I'll come back later after seeing the next seasons.
