But Mudd's Women was very early in the series. We never saw Uhura have any hangups about her looks, or any vanity at all. She was young and beautiful, and there were NO aired scenes that had her obsessing about such things. In The Children Shall Lead, the children controlled Sulu through fear he would make a miscalculation that would destroy the ship, Kirk through losing the ability to command, and Uhura through the prospect of growing old.Why would Uhura have been tempted by the Venus drug? She was already young and beautiful, which is why the androids in I, Mudd tried to tempt her - because she would stay young and beautiful (in looks).
The Venus drug would have offered her the ability to retain her beauty, similar to the offer from the Mudd androids.

Later on, yeah, Mudd's androids tried to tempt her with a body that would last 500,000 years, and she freaked out in And the Children Shall Lead... but those were long after the Venus drug incident.
It would be more interesting to explore whether or not movie-era Uhura would have been tempted by the Venus drug, as she was decades older, her hair was greying, she was noticeably not as youthful in looks or physique as during the first 5-year mission. I would hope she would have the wisdom to embrace her life's experiences and not go chasing after an illusion due to vanity.
