It should, being the best episode that ever was!

I wouldn't go that far.

Balance of Terror's got it beat by a nose...

I don't think so.

In Episode of the Week : Balance of Terror by Botany Bay, it's only 47.92% votes for 10.

"The Doomsday Machine" has 72.34% votes for 10. It's not even close. The question was:

Is this the most ten-ful episode so far, by percentage of votes cast?

I see.

 Ehhh, they're both my faves anyway...

Another great Spock episode. He was cool, calm, and logical the whole time Decker was putting the ship in danger.

I loved when Kirk wanted to talk to Spock and Decker points at the chair commpanel and is like "over here." hahaa :vulcan:

Despite my love for COTEOF, if I could travel back in time for one night to watch the first run of any TOS episode on WJAR channel 10 (my local NBC affiliate both now and in the late 1960's) on a big old Zenith color set, it would be The Doomsday Machine.

So, let's set wayback machine for October 20th, 1967...

Is that what you would use your one and only opportunity to travel back in time for?

Yeah, my first thoughts are to warn my sister away from the idiot she married, and myself away from that bitch from hell girlfriend.

Sorry I messed up the quote to shorten it.

You would fail because you and she wouldn't believe it at the time and then you would want to keep to the original course because of your warning.

This could be it's own thread.

Not if he brought proofs with him... He can record both of them, him at his apex of idiocy, her making a show of bitchiness.

Proofs, proofs, again with the proofs.

What's wrong with proving yourself?

KirkFan, Marsden is trying to point out you've constructed a classic "grandfather paradox". You travel backwards in time to "correct" or "improve" a condition, but in doing so, you negate the very reason for traveling back in time.

Sincerely,

Bill

Actually that applies to anything whatsoever you do back in time. So in essence, what you're saying is that time travel is impossible. Let me explain: No matter what you do in the past, it will become part of your history, making it useless to go back to do the thing in the first place, but if you don't go back then the need to travel back in time will exist. No matter what you do (travel back or not) you'll end up with a paradox. The only solution is that time travel is impossible.

In some sci-fi scenarios it states you can only go back the once but when you do you change the past and the future into an alternate reality like that in Star Trek 09!
