6. Not a bad episode, and it even has several snappy retorts from Nimoy:

SCOTT: But that's not possible! Nothing can do that.
SPOCK: Mister Scott, since we are here, your statement is not only illogical but also unworthy of refutation.

SCOTT: I'll sit on the warp engines myself and nurse them.
SPOCK: That position, Mister Scott, would not only be unavailing but also undignified.

UHURA: How did she get off the ship, sir?
SPOCK: Presumably the same way she got on.

And, of course, it has the very alluring Lee Meriwether, who did a very credible job here. Did any man ever get such a tempting invitation ("I am for you, [insert drooling man's name here]; I must touch you.") that turned out to be so disastrous in consequence?

All in all, for a third season episode, not bad. I'd rank it in the upper half for all 79 episodes, but outside the top 20.

Six..worth watching for Scotty's scenes in the crawlway, but the planetside stuff isn't so great, and Spock was kind of annoying.

Hated it as a kid but it's not really that bad; just a slightly below average third season episode. I rated it as a 4

Love Sulu's acrobatic dodging and the wangy teleportation special effect.

I've always loved this episode. The planet side stuff is eerie in all of the right places, the moving/shifting rock set was a nice touch, as was the service shaft Scotty used to up the drama quotient. I always wondered why Spock was on everybody throughout, but nonetheless chalked it up to his having a bad day. And of course Lee Meriweather.....she was impressive as the computer projection....in all of her stunning glory and terrific delivery. I know this episode isn't popular.....but I love it still the same. I gave it a 9.

I voted 7, I thought the simulacra transportation effect was one of the best effects in the series. Lee Meriweather was excellent in the role, depicting remorse and confusion over killing but continuing because she was programmed to do so. I liked Lt. Rhada, for all we see of her. And extra Scotty time is always a plus.

I think Spock must have really hit the back of his head in this one, he's almost a different character, he's so tight and preachy, but that seems to be the template they use for all other non Sarek/Tuvok Vulcan in the spinoffs, unfortunately. This keeps me from voting 9.

This is a rare instance of Spock being in command, and he tends to get a bit uptight every time... Also, this is one of the few instances where decimal points to countdowns really do matter, a lot: if the ship blows up in 14.87 minutes rather than 15.00, then the guy with his finger hovering over the ejection button should definitely know. And although Spock takes his sweet time switching from decimal points of minutes to minutes+seconds, he eventually gets there, too. But personally I think it's nice that Spock isn't his usual easygoing self here...

It reminds me of a typical Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, which just imperials our heroes but there's no real story other than staying alive.

Wish Lee Meriwether had of worn a short skirt in her part as Losira! A very attractive woman to say the least! Good story, good acting, sets not too good and references to an older episode make me give this a nine!

This one appears on the outside to be one of the "wackier" ones, but get past that initial impression, and it becomes a fairly solid, competent story. I can see Next Gen or Voyager doing this episode, only without the attention-getting costume, otherworldly sounds and effects, and all the talk about "How can she kill when she's so beautiful?!"

As for Spock, come on , he's always like that -- he just gives freer vent to it, if he's in charge.

Saving the ship, all that was good. As for her jaw dropping beauty, I think they seemed almost to go out of their way to undermine that with the get-up and hair, though they may have been going for a sort of Babylonian early-civilization sort of thing.

Actually what I enjoy about her story is the quick summing up at the end, of what must have happened to her people, and who she actually was. Other than that, it's just "I am for you" over and over.

Like this one a lot. Not so much as a kid, but nowadays, I am drawn to it. great way of splitting up the cast and good mention of Chekov, who isn't there. Finally a blue shirt bites the big one and he has personality. You genuinely like D'Amato, even if he can't pronounce his own name ("lucky Dee-Amanto").

My wife did ask why Spock was so obnoxious this episode, but he's funny. I love how he toys with the old "Spock's Brain" remote all episode.

For the third season, a solid win. A 7. It would be an 8, but I deducty a point for the genius who made Lee Meriwether as unattractive as possible. A stunning woman with serious acting chops and they put her in the worst costume and makeup they could. Yeesh.
