I can foresee some places that ship stuff out from stores where it suppose to take 4 to 7 days, but the pickup location is the store having minor issues with orders just a few days before Street Date.

Not necessarily. Most merchandise will already be in the stores with a don't sell until this date sticker.

Yeah, I used to work at Wal-Mart and we'd get stuff in several weeks before the release date. I think there were times where I saw boxes and packed displays for movies that were dated almost a month later.

In one of the stores of a chain of stores I work for somone actually managed to NOT put a box with the newest HP book away when it was delivered. Then another co-worker of said store opened the box, thought, that's funny, and walked away. Costumers saw what was in the box, and thus.... People were able to buy the Dutch translation of that new HP book a week or so before the release.
Some people were not happy about that.

Yeah, like a fine for breaching contract, loss of employment, depending on how severely it impacts business and finances.

Early release is not always good.

IIRC, there was a hefty fine for each copy sold. Not sure exactly.....It's been over a decade.

Well, if this is happening then we definitely need to see force ghost Obi-Wan (with Ewan McGregor). Not that they'd share a scene, but they'd still probably be the first Uncle/Nephew actor pair in a Star Wars movie

He was originally asked to come back in TFA IIRC, but he didn't want a part that was essentially a cameo.

Maybe he's part of the reshoots if it hasn't been announced yet.

And the only Merch with him, is a new novel.

As soon as the news broke about Ewan I already called Force Ghost Obi straight away. But yeah, this really needs to happen now.
