With billy dee Williams age the cane just make lando look even more like a space pimp

I don't like Lando in that yellow shirt. It's like he didn't bother to change clothes since 'Solo'.

^^^ I unequivocally agree!

Solo was a fantastic SW outing, and one which needs its sequel to, picking up on Q’ira, Maul, Crimson Dawn, plot points.

C’mon Disney - you can do it! :)

Solo was an excellent addition to the franchise. The things they need to forget is having two films so close together and the very poor marketing.
Solo was a flawed film, but I'll agree releasing it less than six months after TLJ with very little marketing and promotion really hurt it. Really, they should have postponed it until Christmas when all that Lord & Miller shit went down.

Honestly, given all that went on behind the scenes it's amazing it's as good as it is. And it is a *good* movie, if not a *great* one. It helps if you don't judge it too much against the saga movies since just like 'Rogue One', it's intentionally breaking the fantasy adventure mould.

Just so happens I watched it again yesterday for the first time in a while and i swear it gets better each time.

Cross-posting this from elsewhere on these forums:
One of the co-hosts of the Aggressive Negotiations podcast (who is a member here) postulated a theory about a month ago (or so) that would allow the Sequel Trilogy to "have its cake and eat it too" as far as Rey goes by tying her to Shmi Skywalker, pointing out that Shmi and Anakin are not native to Tatooine and that we know absolutely nothing about her life before we meet her (and Anakin) in The Phantom Menace.

I'm not sure it's something that JJ would end up doing given his personal viewpoints, but it would be an interesting way to "satisfy" and "shut up" the complainers who insist that she has to be a Skywalker despite everything we've seen and heard telling us otherwise.

^ Making Rey a blood relative of Shmi wouldn't be having its cake and eating it too. It would be satisfying one group of fans while doing the opposite for another.

It still amazes me how many fans were so dead set of Rey having some kind of Jedi lineage that they totally missed the part in TFA where it's pretty implicitly stated that her past doesn't matter AND the numerous times it was *explicitly* stated in TLJ that she's not some lost scion.
Altering that defeats the whole point of her character and indeed, one of the major themes of TLJ. The only way Rey is related to Shmi is in the sense that they were both nobodies chosen by the force to serve a purpose. Their was nothing inherently special about them other than who they were at their core, that had nothing to do with genetics.

I admit, I was one of the people convinced Rey was a Skywalker before TLJ, but after TLJ I think from a theme and storytelling perspective it actually works better if what was said in TLJ was the final answer on the subject.

Save for the fact that we know he did. He wore Han's clothes for a while ;)
True, well he is pansexual after all.

From TFA I have felt that these movies were giving us the next generation of the Skywalkers and Solos with the added mystery box by JJ Abrams. It wouldn't surprise me if they came out and said "this was always the plan" even if it really wasn't...

People ultimately drew the wrong conclusions from TFA regarding Rey's lineage, which was made clear within a month of the film's release, but tying her to the Skywalker family tree via Shmi in Episode IX would be the perfect way to both bring the Saga full circle and still keep her the embodiment of the thematic archetype of the "everyman hero" that both JJ and Rian set her up as.

Nah. She's a nobody from nowhere. That's the point. Anything that subverts that idea would undermine her story.

I'm seeing increased chatter that the trailer will drop on or around April 12th at Star Wars Celebration. Anyone else have more info?
