epiphany of the Cybermen

The "original" Mondas/Telos Cybermen (perhaps two different races?) were eventually wiped to extinction by the 7th Doctor (Silver Nemesis). A head of an original Cyberman was seen in a glass display case in Dalek. When the 5th Doctor said that "the Cybermen were never allowed to play" the Game of Rassilon (because, like the Daleks, they play it too well), he was referring to them not being included in the list of aliens brought to the Gallifreyan 'Death Zone' by way of Time Scoop. I don't remember hearing anything that implied the original Cybermen were involved in the Last Great Time War. They were already gone, thanks to the 7th Doctor...

I didn't think Tomb of the Cybermen contradicted that they were from Mondas. Wasn't Telos some sort of Mondasian colony?

According to the Tardis Wiki: http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Telos

At one time Cryons, who died instantly when exposed to temperatures above zero degrees, lived on Telos. The Cryons moved under the surface when it became too warm, constructing underground cities refrigerated to the zero temperatures the Cryons need to survive. The Cybermen later came to steal the refrigerated cities to use as repositories of Cybermen cryogenically frozen in suspended animation. The Cybermen killed most of the Cryons. I haven't seen Silver Nemesis in 10 years, but I really didn't think that they were now all dead because of events happening on "present day" earth, when so many of their adventures and even their first appearance happen in Earths future... but maybe I just have to watch it again. :)

count me as another one wishing the Mondasian Cybermen would return.

it's be even better if the old ones and the Cybus Cybermen met!

That would definitely be cool to see, but they'd still have to update and redesign the original Cybermen somehow. And personally, I don't know how they could have been updated any better than they already have.

In any case, I don't really think of the new ones as those "alternate-reality Cybermen" anymore. To me, they're just... the Cybermen.

When he first nu-met them in season 2... The Doctor referred to those Cybermen also as "cybers" (I think at least, I believe Davey had a mouthful of marbles at the time.) and then he goes to say that "it's happening again".

I want to see several of the costume designs encounter each other.

I do like the huge front packs from the original costume.

Would they be unified? Would they submit tot he superior design?

Would the superior design necessarily be from the apex of what we chronologically have viewed?
