I think you're right. His posts are almost always, but not quite, total non sequiturs; responses that only tangentially have anything at all to do with anything else in the thread, as if he/it didn't understand what was actually being talked about, but was merely responding to a few keywords alone.
Recently, someone posted of having trouble with a virus checker acting up, making it impossible for him to "log on" to the computer, and Oponda responded with directions for double checking your dial-up number with the phone company, to make sure that you wouldn't incurr long distance charges when you "log on" to the net.
In another, someone asked a technical question about the mechanics of RoboCop, and Oponda replied with a brief history of how the screenwriter came up with the idea for RoboCop.
In yet another, someone asks how stronger than Earth-normal gravity would affect physical development and functioning, and Oponda responded with an explanation of how extraterrestrial gravity can be measured.
In every case, Oponda's responses have dealt with only one out-of-context aspect of whatever is being discussed.
So yes, I agree, Oponda is not a real person, but a bot.
