Enterprise-J future thoughts and questions

Here's what the bridge of the Enterprise-J looks like, according to Star Trek Online:

I'd like to think Enterprise J includes a Displacement Activated Spore Hub drive. They should have a computer able to handle the jumps without human involvement by then. Maybe it goes to lifeless parts of this galaxy or others, and drops a few Improved Genesis devices to set up new worlds to live on. It might even explore alternate timelines and be loaded for bear for those times it jumps into areas they don't like visitors.

You primitive people and your need to sit down. Enterprise J's personal gravity settings on the deck plates for a rejuvenating levitation session at your duty station.
There are theories out there, that at least parts of the ship's rooms and installations are of holographic nature and mingled with holodeck technology. So if the need arises, perhaps one can simply materialize or dematerialize a chair and or other consoles...

Maybe Earth isn't as important for the Federation as it was and lost a lot of political influence, in the 26th century.

It looks too utilitarian, too Star Destroyer-ey for a Federation ship. Even the Enterprise-E had some warmth to it despite no longer being a space Hilton. Everyone remember the early Probert ideas for the TNG bridge? Two tiered, with a central conference table and couches for most of the cast? And heck, PLANTS for some reason? More like that - or at least like the Andromeda from Andromeda, which was huge to the point that the show forgot that there were even aft stations most of the time.
As for the window/skylight thing, I'm happy with it being exactly that - they're skylights for enormous internal terraces which feature complete buildings, streets, parks, homes, and a low "sky" which may even be holographically projected - the skylights would be only for nighttime or when you want some local sunlight. Wanna go stare outside? Use the transporter booths found everywhere and beam yourself (or take the turbotrains or EDH-equipped Johnnycab if you're in no rush) to one of the facilities on the edge of the saucer. There you can sit and have a drink, go work out, or chat with the cetaceans while you look out at the grand galactic vistas your Universe-class ship will be transwarping by!
Even the E-D had a ridiculous amount of internal space for 1000 people, that a TV budget could never realize. The E-J would be so damn large that having everything run by a core crew of 5-6 people on a tiny bridge would seem counterproductive.

That looks like a plumbing room level in a JRPG.
Probably resulting from the war against the Sphere Builders lasting as long as it did. Must have held back starship development, took away the bling.
Let's see. Alien ship fires, power generator goes offline and next thing you know you're suddenly making a nasty and painful fall on your tail bone because the chair you were sitting on suddenly is no more.
Maybe it's the Voyager kind of holograms that when the plot demands just stay there during a power cut
I definitely think this original timeline with the Sphere Builder War was never seen again. TOS and TNG take place in the timeline that was already altered by the events of the third season. For that reason, we don't know if Klingons will join by the mid-26th century.
I also think it's possible the Xindi have already joined the UFP by the time of TOS, same with a bunch of other races in Enterprise.

I would like the J if it was officially a bit smaller (500m range) and didn't have that weird hourglass pimple on top, along with nacelles that looked a bit beefier on beefier pylons. 2km for a ship, however is just ridiculous.... The design however is relatively fine. A big saucer on a vestigial secondary hull. The forward deflector is just there to be artistically linked with ENT, they have a more 'normal' one in their secondary.
And there's still so much of our own galaxy to explore, even in 2600. That's getting into just the core of the galaxy (and the huge energy-rich empires there one expects) along with all quadrant borders (which still leaves a lot of Delta and Gamma unexplored.
One can also imagine that with the 'halo' of the milkway and outermost arms there could be some real scary, alien stuff - places either dead, dying, or raked over by extragalactic or free-floating void hungry monsters, think like the Halo and Ghoul Stars of Warhammer 40k).
I can accept some battle at Procyon V - it's their battle of Wolf 359, or that the Sphere Builders came back again. That's overall fine.

l have to admit, it does sound like a very useful technology
Seriously though, if it is true that a holodeck also temporarily replicates matter (e.g. the teacup you're holding and drinking from in that 18th century English setting), then it should be possible to temporarily replicate chairs etc as a function of a ship too (without needing continuous power to sustain those chairs).

The bridge and hallway looks alien and not traditional Starfleet design. Which means a more alien crew than past Enterprises, doesn’t it?
