So during the course of my workday at the Library of Congress, I was working on a collection held by the Maine Historical Society. It is a summons for the sailor Frederick Reed (probably to appear in a naval court) because he shirked his duty and neglected his service; his ship: the schooner Enterprise (active 1799-1811); John Hall, shipmaster. The date of the summons is 1803.
So apparently Mr. Reed didn't want to be on the Enterprise; apparently his (possible relative) Malcolm did... Just thought you all would be interested.
