Enterprise E should have been a Venture upgraded Galaxy Class

I wouldn't really call it a reset button in this case. It's not like they are erasing the destruction of the Enterprise, more like getting a chance to refit the Galaxy Class but keep the basic model design.

No, I meant that they should have just crashed/destroyed the ship and had their effectsapalooza, and at the end hit a reset button and undid it.

Hey guys. Doubleoh is right, that is my image posted upthread. I did a lot more of them, too. I think the one posted is from my first set of manips and I agree, they don't look all that great. I did some new ones a few years later with higher res source images.

That is some incredible shit there my friend!!! First Contact is a 7 out of 10 in my books, but just having the Enterprise D kick ass like that would have easily raised it to a 9 out of 10.

As for the pic I posted, I don't even remember where I got it, it was such a long time ago. Glad to find the original artist, kudos man, I'm a'savin' those beauties to my archive.

Thanks for posting those, Flux! I really, really, really (did I mention really?) like the second set. A lot. That is some great photomanipping, and really makes me wish the D had made it to FC.

I actually really liked the design of the Ent-E. I guess I must be in the minority then?

You're not alone. I like the Enterprise E but not the D was very happy to see it crash.

My biggest problem with the E is how ugly the Nacelles look. To me it looks like they stuck two dragonflies to the saucer section.

I can see your argument but I disagree with the way the TNG film were going, it was continuing going dark, less exploration and more conflicts with aggressive aliens. The Enterprise -E fit the way the movie were leading First Contact - The Borg, Insurrection-The sona, Nemesis- Romulan and Remans. I'm a fan of the Enterprise-D is looked it best in Generations, and if they had another type of Galaxy-Class starship I would have loved it as well if they were in the remaining TNG films. But I love the design of Enterprise-E as well

But with Star Trek XI the Enterprise- D or E could be that class of starship
