No it is FACT and we have the pictures to prove it....lmao. there is nothing said in this thread to prove otherwise.....
No it’s an opinion.

There are quite a few people in this thread saying it’s a faithful reimagining. Are you saying all of them are wrong?

If you look, there are a lot of subtle nods to the TOS Enterprise. Is the new "old" version perfect? Not by a long shot, but it is better than I thought it would be.

Yes I see the nods. The lights above etc. Sure there are things thrown here and there to pander. They could have done the same thing to the discovery bridge and called it a redesigned tos era Enterprise bridge. They should have stuck with the general layout and size. Which they did not.

Well, a lot of nods but a lot more basic, structural stuff than nods.

It is the original TOS set layout, with a greater diameter and a lot of add-ons: the second turbolift, the partitions between stations etc. Beyond that, the differences are mostly ergonomic, detailing and instrumentation.

Hell, it even preserves the too-low-to-be-practical bridge railings, which I'd think would annoy some folks.

It's closer to TOS than anything used in any later series or movie; they moved away from the Jefferies TOS bridge starting with ST:TMP.

I can see the appeal of it as a star trek bridge. It is very well done. But they could have done better to bring it in line with the TOS sets. Not just the bridge but the entire interior. The hallways for example are enormous compared to the original layout.

Size is wrong and there is an extra door now etc...
You said the general layout. It has the same general layout.

The comm, science, helm, and tactical stations are all in the same spots.

To me that’s the same general layout.

Everything is where it should be.

Add size in my original statement...pretty much all bridges we see In star trek can be retro fitted with orange rails and winky blinky lights and we can call it a modern update on the TOS enterprise set. Right?

It's a nice bridge. But they could have done much better. But they did pretty much what I thought they would.

Absolutely wrong.

This goes straight back to the Jefferies TOS bridge for its most basic structural design. The "bones" of the original TV series set are there, with a completeness that has never been incorporated into any Trek set since that time.

Aesthetic facts don't care about our feelings, amirite?

No.

This goes way beyond that. Hell this looks more like the TOS bridge than any of the TOS movie bridges did.

The set kinda reminded me of a cross between the TOS set and the movie sets, which to me conveyed a sort of abstract ideal of the bridge. If that makes sense.

The way the JJ-movies filmed the bridge, made it seem to me to be more oblong from left to right, rather than round.

I liked the JJ movies, especially the final one, but if you asked me to drawn what the bridge even looked like in those, I wouldn't be able to do it.
