ENTER! TV & Media Av Contest:Tough Girls

Perhaps I'm taking the "girl" part a bit too literally:

Heh. Well-played.

But I'd argue that this film, like most late 60s-70s Bond films, also falls under the sci-if/fantasy category:

  • Bond travels back to Switzerland where he visits Blofeld, who has established a clinical research institute atop Piz Gloria in the Swiss Alps. In disguise, Bond meets ten young women, the "Angels of Death", that are patients of the institute's clinic. After having an uneventful dinner with them, Bond later that night, sneaks out of his room and meets one of them, named Ruby, in her room for a romantic encounter. But at midnight, Bond sees that Ruby and apparently each of the other ladies go into a sleep-induced trance while Blofeld gives them audio instructions for when they return to the civilization. In fact, the women are being brainwashed to distribute bacteriological warfare agents throughout various parts of the world....Blofeld holds the world to ransom with the threat of destroying its agriculture using his brainwashed women, demanding amnesty for all past crimes and that he be recognized as the current Count de Bleauchamp.

You could, but why would ya want to waste your time?

James Bond is always a topic of discussion in this forum, not scifi/fantasy.

Well, later seasons of The Avengers were definitely fantasy, but Bond, I think, can be easily be argued as just action/spy genre. We had an entire av contest here not long ago that was just about Bond.

I'd definitely accept a Bond character.

He already explained that the av wasn't Emma Peel; it was Diana Rigg in a Bond film. So it's OK. I already said that Avengers was indeed Sci Fi, as it was already pointed out by someone else.

My thread. My rules. I can't tell you how many Indy avs there are in Sci Fi. It has deadly ghosts melting people's faces. I'd say it's fantasy. Bond = action. Avengers and Indy = fantasy. End of discussion.

Well, the whole ghost things at the end of the film is fantasy/horror. but the bulk of the film is action adventure. But as you say, its your thread.

Indiana Jones is one of those rare franchises that's both fantasy and science fiction. That makes it doubly inappropriate for a TVM contest.
