That's a vote! :D If I'm here when the contest happens...going out of town this weekend...

I'm trying to decide whether and which Lost avatars might qualify. Maybe none of them, or perhaps all of them? :rommie:

Or maybe I should just use this one again?

It was the last time anyone used "It was all a dream!" as the final plot twist and everyone didn't throw popcorn at the screen. :rommie:

I'm not sure if this counts, but even in the movie proper, it was still a fairy tale, and never happened. The only thing that actually happened in the film was that the boy was sick, and his grandfather read the story.

^Hmm... I'm inclined to say no, especially since in that particular movie, the "story-within-the story" is the main focus of the film. If you want to stick with The Princess Bride, though, I'd say Buttercup's imagined marriage to Prince Humperdinck would qualify.

Yeaa but the whole thing was just a way to cheer up the kid.

Well, I don't know, it has been a while since I've seen the film. What say the rest of you?
As you wish.........

I have to agree with your original thought, Daneel. The story presented in "The Princess Bride" is the primary one of the movie. It is accepted as "what happened", because it doesn't change. Between its presentation and the grandfather's reading of the book, nothing is altered.

However, your suggestion of Buttercup's imagining herself actually marrying Humperdinck would qualify, because it IS a change in that story.

OK..here's one guaranteed to get me NO VOTES whatsoever  , but it's one of my favorite SG-1 episodes ever:

Alright, I've decided to go with J.G. Hertzler as Roy, the artist in DS9 'Far Beyond the Stars' -
