We're heading into the month of Christmas and Hanukkah, but the month of December is host to myriad other festivals -- both religious and secular -- from a host of different cultures. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to enter an avatar celebrating one of the December festivals around the world that isn't Christmas or Hanukkah.
The usual Misc. Avatar Contest size rules and "no media" restrictions apply. By extension of the latter, December holidays from contemporary fiction, film and television do not apply -- ergo, no Life Day from Star Wars or Festivus from Seinfeld! -- even if they may have acquired a quasi-ironic real-life following since their creation. Once popular but now lapsed celebrations from history are acceptable.
Let the games begin. I'll start off with the Dongzhi Festival of Winter Solstice from China:
Accepting entries until midnight Thursday.
