ENTER! Misc Av Contest: Mythological Creatures

Since one of the very first entries was a god I too wanted to enter a god!
But most of our gods are these days portrayed as characters in american films for kids...

Nisser, I did in December (which kinda is their season as they fill the same niche 'Elves' do in American mythology) and Trolls are more of a Norwegian/Swedish thing....

Which pretty much leaves Holger Danske (~Ogier the Dane) who sleeps in the cellars of Kronborg Castle. Legend has it that when peril threatens the kingdom he awakens and saves the day.

As you see, the fellow does make a dashing avatar

Smurfs?

Smurfs are Dutch (or Belgian?).

It's hard to remember where they come from when they've been dubbed.

Mythology is everywhere and I did think about digging up something local and showing you all just how mad the Danes are... but you'd probably just make it into a cartoon for your kids like you did with the last part of our mythology you got your hands on...

Smurfs originated in comics. Those, of course, aren't allowed, either.
