Marie--since you're OK with a drawing...I have two I'd like to enter. This is actually of my alternate version of Dukat...a man who lived a different life and made different choices. Both drawings show expressions you'd never see the canon Dukat wearing (at least, not MEANING it). What do you guys like better?

This one is a simpler drawing--in this one, AU Dukat shows an emotion you would NEVER see from the canon one.

This drawing is one I did with AU Dukat and his daughter, who bears his last name. THIS expression is one we have seen a few times in genuine fashion--but very, very rarely. The first shows AU Dukat and Ziyal together...the second just AU Dukat.

What do you guys like best, of the Dukat who could have been but in our universe never was?

I'd go with the second one, and the close-up of Dukat. The genuine kindness in his eyes is very notable.

Random theme:

This might seem somewhat odd but I've chosen to go for one of my favorite Discworld characters, Death. Mostly because in the end he stands up for the chaff of the harvest (humanity) and because he is a fair and just reaper. Plus as you can see, he likes kittens, what a softy eh?

That's a great choice.

It brings to mind Death's finest moment, which I'm thinking you had in mind too: "What more can the harvest hope for...if not the care of the reaper man?"

I think this is why Pratchett's Death is such a great character, he is the ultimate public servant and he really does care on a deep level what happens to his charges. Plus he'll kick arse to save the world

And then there is this beauty of this monologue:

I give you Dukat as he could have been if he had truly lived what was good in him, instead of selling his soul for power...if he had learned to really open his eyes all the way and SEE.

This picture, for some reason, pictures compassion (anyone who flails with rage because it has animals in it can get slagged ). I'm not even sure who is comforting who... but both look like they needed to be close to each other... I see that little guy, and thought about all those monkeys that were tested on, and those experiments that showed they'd rather have a towel than food... :/
