The 1980's produced some of the most poorly animated and conceived cartoon shows in the history of film and television.

What was your favourite? And if you're not old enough to have lived through the dark ages of TV animation just google something. :bolian:

Avatars must conform to trekbbs rules i.e. max image size 150x150px and max file size 140kb.

How true about your statement. And yet, people love these shows and think that they're better than anything on the air now.

Here are my favorites:

Dungeons & Dragons-[yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JjhQ1Oi_3k[/yt]

Robotech-[yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEe0kzyFOyU[/yt]

The Real Ghostbusters-[yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPiZptATdGc[/yt]

The Real Ghostbusters had really smart writing (at least in its first couple of seasons) and generally terrific animation, so I don't think it fits the spirit of the thread. Robotech was pretty solid in both respects too.

:p

(Seriously, though, if it had to have its entire run in the 80s, not just start in the 80s, let me know, and I'll change my entry.)

EDIT: Ugh, just checked Wikipedia, and it looks like the first episode was broadcast on Dec 17, 1989, and then episode 2 aired in 1990. For some reason, I thought it had been on earlier than that. So I guess it doesn't really fit the spirit of the contest. I'll post a different entry later. Sorry.

EDIT #2: OK, I don't know about "favourite", but I found this while searching, and was kinda like :wtf:, so I had to go with it.

Yeah, they made a cartoon about the character from the 80s video game where you had to change all the squares to a different colour by jumping on them.

Not to be confused with the good Ghostbusters cartoon of the 80s. ;)

And they only aired it in a few markets, too, not over the whole network.

I'll throw in this one:

And this one:

Ok, this is a weird one, but full of nostalgia for me. Anyone remember Dr Snuggles? Looking back, it was quite a surreal show similar to Alice in Wonderland (and it even had its own cheshire cat), but I adored it and the theme was catchy.
