My name is Steven, the screen name is a little play on the names. I'm 38, and first came to STrek as a 5-year old watching it on the BBC.

My favourite show is TOS, then VOY. Enterprise I watch because I try and watch everything STrek. I watched maybe 3/4 of TNG before my dislike of the characters made watching every week impossible, and for stronger reasons of the same, I only saw about 1/3 of DS9.

STII: TWOK is not only the best STrek movie, but one of my all-time favourites. My 21-month old daughter is named Kathryn Rebecca. Rebecca is her maternal grandmother's name, Kathryn is... after Janeway. My wife and I put Chakotay and Janeway figures on our wedding cake, rather than the usual groom and bride... it goes on and on. I used to, snobbishly, call myself a Star Trek Fan, to avoid the moniker Trekkie, but let's face it. I'm a Trekkie. A big one.

I came to the States as a 9-year old, and after a few years back in the UK at public school (which of course means Private School to those not from the UK) I came back to stay.

I have a degree in Chemical Engineering, but work in a developmental biology lab, where I'm the core facility manager for a genetic research lab working on Cancer, spinal cord regeneration, sexual development and neurological disorders.

I'm married, with a 16-year old and a 21-month old. I quote STrek 3-4 times a day, and listen to the TOS soundtracks on a regular basis at work. A standee of Janeway commands my department, and all my personalised ice hockey jerseys either have the name Harkonnen (Dune) or Janeway on the back.

Glad to be here among the similarly-afflicted!

Welcome to the ENT forum!
I've been a Trekkie since my parents introduced me to TOS.

Another Dune fan. Woohoo!
Did you know Alec Newman who played Paul in the Dune miniseries will be in 3 eps. of ENT this season? I'm really excited about that.

Anthony

I joined the forums about 2 weeks ago, but I only first posted 2 days ago.
My name is Anthony I am 24 from wales although I am very nationalistic and consider myself british 100%

I don't really know what to say about myself so I will just tell you how I first got into star trek, since it's what we all have in common here.
When I was a kid, maybe 6-8 I mostly only liked star trek because of the ships and the way they illuminated with bright blues and greens, the star trek episodes was still outside my area of understanding.
One day in the summer while off school we went out to a local fair and this one stall was selling the star trek enterprise toy. I was quite amazed by it.. you had a handle with trigger fitted into the bottom the ship and when you pressed the button it made various scanning or phaser/photon? firing noises, it even seperated the saucer from the lower section and the sensors fitted at the front would detect when something got close. I have no idea if this was the original or brand new enterprise from tng, maybe it was TNG because I didn't think the original enterprise could seperate the saucer section.

After I got that ,I began to watch star trek (and lost in space) more often , but I didn't get really interested in the actual stories until TNG. DATA was definitely my favourite character. damn? didn't he die off in nemesis or did he download himself into the other data?

These days I don't watch that much tv, I mostly prefer all sorts of comedy but watch any star trek (except original) very often.

As you will learn, I enjoy talking online a lot.. because of the fact you can easily find people with the exact same interests.. something which seems like a lucky dip in real life.
I have been told I am very opinionated, and if I feel like I have something to say, I am never half assed about it..
I am always passionate about the things I consider important.

I could tell you about more personal things, but I am also very private in that area so I will give it a miss..
