I love film and books and plays and yes, even the opera. I can stay in a room all by myself for ages with just a pile of books. you just need to feed me intermittently.

Did you hear about that guy about a week ago who was buried under a collapsed pile of books in his apartment for 3 days? Ever since that was on cnn.com, everybody I know has been bringing it to my attention repeatedly; they expect me to meet my demise in a similar fashion.

Hi everyone My name is Stephen And im 20 years old. i had been a small trek fan at 14 when i bought the pilot of Next Generation but never really started getting really interested until i started watching voyager and eventually collected all the voyager videos, all the Next Gen dvds and most of the original series on video. i also have all the DS9 DVD'S. I have to say i love enterprise and hope it will contunue to get even more good than it is today.


Other show that i enjoy include Fiends, Quantum Leap , Red Dwarf, And i love all The STAR WARS Films.

Guess it's my turn. I'm a grad student in English. I've been here since ENT premiered. I lurked until the show premiered, and then tried to register but couldn't for two days. I'm one of the original, much-loved, much-hated Reed Ragers, and I became a Tuckerite some time after "Shuttlepod One" when I realized Trip wasn't a big jerk after all and that those shoulders weren't the only good thing he had going.

I loved DS9 best when it debuted, but I think TNG actually means more to me sentimentally. I actually was introduced to Trek by the animated series, which played on Nickelodeon when I was a kid. Then TNG, then syndicated nightly TOS. I used to read James Blish's renderings of the TOS episodes before a local indie station started running the eps.

That's me. Cajuns in the governors mansion, Cajun in the Super Bowl. We're taking over!

I come from California, the central valley. Ever heard of Modesto? Oh yeah, that's the place to be. Yuch. They sell T-shirts there that say "I'd kill to live in Modesto." Shows you what a classless place it is. Oh well. My girlfriend says Modesto is 2 hours from anywhere. I like that one. Sums it up pretty well.

I'm old. I've been a Star Trek fan since 1969. I've seen all the movies except the last one. I enjoyed all the series until Voyager. It's been downhill for me ever since the 2nd year of that show. I find the producers to be bored with it all and pretty listless. It seems the life has left Trek.

I still hang in there though...hoping.

My name is Eric, I'm 35, and I've been a fan since I was about 8 or 9 watching it in syndication. I love all the incarnations of Star Trek and have been to about 20 conventions since my first one in 1992-- the ones in Las Vegas have been my favorite ones so far, though I have also been to Seattle, Portland, Vancouver BC and Salt Lake City for conventions as well. I built my own Borg costume and I even bought some yellow contact lenses so I can dress like Data.
I also enjoy SG-1, Blake's 7 and Red Dwarf.

How did you get started in that? If you couldn't guess from my screen name, I'm a freelance proofreader/editor. And most of my work is technical--I just finished an economics text, and am now in the middle of a Calculus book!

I read a lot for pleasure, too, anything from ancient history (especially concerning Alexander the Great and the Persian wars) to mysteries (nothing graphic). Also contemporary fiction if it isn't too angst-ridden.

I'm 26 & I teach Western (European) history to college students. I've been watching Star Trek on & off since age 5. We don't get too much Trek around here.

You like ancient history? I read history both for pleasure & for work. My specialization is late 19th century history but I read the ancient period (my favorites are the Assyrians) during my spare time. Who do you think is the better writer- Herodotus or Thucidydes?

Well, I haven't posted in this forum much lately, but here goes...my real name is Judi, I'm 32, I've been a Trek fan pretty much my whole life. DS9 is my favorite. I've stuck with ENT even though I've been somewhat disappointed with it. I'm another of the orginal Reed Ragers/Tuckerites (I'm the one who came up with "The King of Kaboom" as Reed's nickname). So I've been with this forum almost since the beginning! I also love LOTR (as if you couldn't tell by my avatar).

Star Trek (TOS) was probably the push I needed to send me into science (yes I'm an oldie too, saw it in the original incarnation) and I've never regretted it for a minute.

Hello everyone! My real name is Takahiro. 30 yr old Japanese guy living in San Francisco. I own a small web / multimedia design company.

I started to watch star trek back in Japan... It was like I was 19. one night I didn't have anything else to watch, then the midnight TV was playing New Generation and I got addicted.

After I came to the U.S, I am still totally addicted.. Now that I have a TIVO, I can watch star trek anytime!! yupieee!!

I love Voyager, and ENT though.. I know, not too many people like these but I just can't stop watching them.I think Voyager has the most interesting characters, and ENT, I guess I watch them because I can't think any day without trek. I hope they'll improve the story more.. (and make it like 50 minutes!!)

Ohh, and Since I started to watch star trek, I started to read more about astrobiology and astrology. I never imagined myself reading those kind of books, (little too geeky taste for me) but omg, I am totally addicted!

Hi! My nickname means Wednesday, my real name is Karine, I'm 28 years old and I'm from Moscow, Russia. I believe I'm the only Russian here. Actually I'm on spying mission! Tell me everything about forcefield and phase pistols! *infernal laughing*

I'm education abroad manager, I send Russian children and students to England, Ireland and France to learn languages and one happy day I'm gonna kill all visa section officers of British embassy in Moscow as they keep drinking my blood (just kidding - about killing, not about them drinking my blood).

I've seen TNG, all the movies and two seasons of Enterprise. I soooo hope our TV would buy the next season!
You know, it's really sad to read the forum and episodes sinopsis and have no possibility to watch the new episodes! Besides at present it's absolutely nothing to watch on Russian TV. And I hate our TV for they run all series only for a half. Bastards!

Also I like SG-1, Babylon-5, Buffy and Lexx, though usually I prefer non-sci/fi series, like Six Feet Under or The Sopranos.

I don't read much sci/fi these days, only Lois McMaster Bujold and Zelazny, but I've read a lot of classical American sci/fi authors.

My favorite bands are U2 and the Doors, though I like almost all types of music, from classical to jazz and from Moby to Led Zeppelin. No Britnie Spears and Justin Timberlake please!

I enjoy the TrekBBS because it's always interesting to meet people from different cultures, know out interests, hobbies and opinions of people across oceans.

I like boozing in good company and every Friday we got Managers' Day in a Moscow club "Pirogi". There're a lot of LOTR fans among my friends, but I'm not one of them, I do like teasing these crazy people, asking where're their swords and axes, what they think about Legolas' new hair style etc. (I know I'm evil ). So far I was lucky enough to avoid being murdered by these nice people.

Favorite ST characters - Picard and Reed. Yeah, I like guys with stiff upper lip.

i am actually pretty new (joined earlier today) so i may as well introduce myself here...

i'm nick. i'm 22 years old, and i'm from australia.

i have quite a bizarre story. i first saw star trek when i was about 6 or 7. it was the next generation but it didn't interest me much at the time. a few years later, i caught some of the original episodes when they were being shown late at night, but i didn't watch religiously, and most of the time i missed it because i had school the next day. when i was 17, someone compared red dwarf to voyager, saying both had a wisecracking hologram. this interested me so i checked it out and found that i liked it. from there on, i started hiring the vids, then buying them, and so on. now, i have seen most of the original, all of tng (except one episode), all of ds9, voyager and enterprise (so far.)

besides star trek, the other tv shows i like are mostly uk comedy - red dwarf, the young ones, absolutely fabulous, and so on.

i don't work or study, but i'm looking for a job. i spent 2003 studying, and am a qualified youth worker.

music i like: magic dirt, deftones, foo fighters, muse, yeah yeah yeahs, pacifier, garbage, sekiden... though if i keep typing, this will get pretty long.

um, i guess thats about it.

Hi I'm a long time trekfan and I live in the Netherlands. My family is from Suriname, the greatest and culturally richest country in the world.

When I first started watching TOS I was emmediately hooked on trek. At first I didn't like TNG much because I had problems with the change from Kirk to Picard. That same feeling most people have today, switching from Voy to Ent. But TNG soon grew on me too.

I think DS9 is the best trek tv show ever. But I do admit that I'm a bit biased because it is the only show where I could really identify with the lead character. A strong character with love for his family that kicks loads of ass.

Well thats about all I'll tell you about myself. Have fun posting and if I offend you in the near future, don't take it too personal.

Hi to All,
My name is Nancy and I'm 40 years old (so all those "old codgers" shouldn't feel so all alone). I have been lurking the on Trek BBS for over a year now and have posted only once so far. I am totally new to this so I hope people are patient. I have heard that when newbies screw up that people sometimes jump all over them. I hope that isn't the case here. I am the director of a cancer biology lab the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Madison is a beautiful city settled on a isthmus between 4 lakes. Even in our (usually) nasty Wisconsin winters it is a pretty place to see (especially with snow!) I LOVE to read. I am interested in many subjects: history (my husband is a history teacher), culture/anthropology, art, natural history/biology/history of science and fiction as well (especially science fiction) These days my job keeps me busy so mainly I read when I have time but I use to work with and show horses (not my own though--too expensive!) I first started watching Star Trek in the 70's on those 3:30 pm after school syndications (ah those were the days!) I really loved it and still do love the "classic" Star Trek (but PLEASE don't take that as ENT bashing--nothing even remotely intended!) I didn't watch much in college (I watched lots of Dr. Who) but I picked it up again and started watching TNG. (Which earlier I thought I wouldn't as I was SURE that it couldn't be as good as TOS. That just shows that one should watch first then talk). I now love TNG. I have not seen either DS9 or Voyager but only because they are not being shown in my area right now. I have seen only a little fragment of an Enterprise so I am still in the dark about it as well. I do want to see more of DS9, Voyager and Enterprise. I want to do so out of curiosity and interest. (My husband dislikes DS9, but likes Voyager and Enterprise--making him a bit of a curiousity on this board as far as I can tell) I will make my own opinions though. Well enough of the novel, I will keep on lurking (and hopefully posting too) I really do like this board.
