Ent Caption This?

One of the things I've been enjoying the most around these parts lately are the "caption this" threads in the TNG, Voyager and, most recently, the movies forum.

I don't see one here. Is there one? Was there one? Would anyone like one? Can I do one?

I think they're lots of fun. And I can be sure that, should I host one, it will run on a weekly basis. All I gotta do is find the screen grabs, put 'em on my photobucket, put 'em here, let yinz have at 'em and then - the hard part - pass judgment. Right?

So... whatcha think?

Oops. I didn't even see it. Wasn't on the front page.

Maybe it's just me, but I've preferred them when there's one, maybe two pictures to caption. Six is just too many. And when they run a week, and "winners" get selected, and then new pics go up.

Is no one interested in this forum?

Well,, I'm here and so are you.

Depending on what time it is for people, some are in bed, some are shopping or baking or cleaning for the holidays... Actually, I could be doing any of these right now. But I'd rather be here.

Quite interested. It's just surprisingly hard to keep a weekly sequence going, and when there's a little slip it can take months to get back onto schedule, is all. Don't worry; it's all there.

Some weeks it's really easy to find captions for a half-dozen pictures; some weeks it's impossible (for me, anyway) to find even one. Which is probably for the best; other people do great the weeks I'm stumped.

it isnt the contest aspect that really drove me to do it but rather people seemed to have fun doing it and others reading them.

there hasnt been as many captions recently and i suspect with it especially being december real life is getting in the way.

and the number of captions originally was because i was following the sci fi sequence of the shows.

and well sometimes people enjoyed stringing the different images into their own story.

now if someone wants to take over.. well i would want to see the this is for fun kept as being more important then this is a contest and we have fussy rules.

i have seen more then one person driven away because of some thing like well you are posting to much in the thread in a different forum.

do i still want to do them yes.
but it being the holidays plus now i have a friend in skilled care who i visit at least a couple of times a week.
i just hope things settle down after the holidays for all of us.


and bri i could have sworn you have taken part in the caption thing here before??

We have caption contests. But they've slowed down as of late and we haven't been getting regular weekly or semi-weekly contests. Maybe that'll change soon.
