that was what sold me on the show. It's the same deal as the Liberator from Blakes Seven. Cat and mouse. You need 2 or 3 dozen of the most powerful local ships to take down this one dirty foreigner with it's almost magical technology despite the fact that it's barely larger than a shuttle.
Hells, the Aeon almost destroyed Voyager and that WAS a shuttle.
When the enemy has to out think the goodguys because they can't match the goodies fire power or speed, you're going to have to have a very intelligent villian. GO TEAM SESKA! She took the ship in basics well enough that only some bugger who Janeway spent time pissing on and despising turned the tide who really had every reason not to.
The original though might have been that janeway would have to out think stronger species, or be diplomatic but by season 4, Voyager was acting out as if it was 10 times more power than either of Picards enterprises.
