I've officially began work on a project I'm dubbing, "Encarta Begins (Working Title)". But I need your help!

Please help me decide what the new hero ship will be called!

I think that Farragut and Lexington are already taken. I think you should stick with the name you already have. Now, if you want a name for another ship, that's a whole different ball game. I could go with Endeavor if that's the case.

Since the project is classified a prequel/reboot, anything's game at this point. I've gotten a lot of feedback over the last 12 years, and it seemed "Encarta" was never a popular name. That's why I'd like to do a little poll and see what people think.

I think the original series really went as far as it could with the rift saga. The problem with the original is it requires a lot of knowledge of the previous films to know what's going on. While resurrecting the series, and telling the Lynch court martial story would be a lot of fun, it's simply impossible to get any members (but me) of the original cast back. I'd like the new project to be accessible to a new audience, so i've cooked up a little reboot idea. Now I just need a ship.

It's either going to be an Intrepid class, or Galaxy...not sure on that yet either.

Endeavor is good. No one was using it. It's strong and has alot good feelings associated with it. I'd move away from the Intrepid class. Starship Intrepid in Scotland has pretty well made that design their own.

Second; I voted for the U.S.S. Endeavor. I don't dislike the name Encarta on it's face, it sort of sounds futuristic and nautical, but it's a little odd that a 24th century starship is named after a now defunct microsoft encyclopedia.
