Alien fighters attack earth and...

sounds interesting but I have to wonder what you could bootstrap in a ten month period - I guess giant mecha robots are out?

We seem to be getting a whole string of alien invasion films at the moment (and talk of a sequel to ID4 is coming around again).

Hmm, this sounds somewhat like Robotech in execution, even down to the name of the movie (EDF is what the military of the United Earth Government is called in Robotech). I'd love to see this movie, and hope that maybe the director can incorporate elements of Macross/Robotech into the fighter design.

I thought the same thing as well when I read what the movie was about. It seems to me like this would make for a better TV show than movie.

I agree, we are being invaded with many alien invasion movies and I just love this stuff. Super hero movies, monster movies, alien invasion movies...its a good time to be a nerd!

It's the base plot of any number of anime, really. Macross is the most obvious, but Yamato had a similar initiator of a message from space sending a bunch of heroes on a quest to save the world.

Still, as a air/space fighter junkie this does sound fun. I'll keep an eye out for news on this one.
