Your either very young or your joking. In case your not here is an explanation:

A tape is what we used before dvds, they were easier to record on but would get a grainy image and degraded sound very quickly sometimes after only 2 or 3 runs. Glad to have dvds which dont have the problem, though theyre bound to degrade eventually.

You know, DVDs aren't THAT old. Nobody's so young that they don't know what a VHS is, as opposed to a DVD. Not yet.
