Eartha Kitt dies at 81

She only played Catwoman for 2 or 3 episodes. But she has a great voice. Sad to hear she passed away.

So what? She was much more memorable in the role than the other woman - Julie Newmar, I think.

RIP, Ms. Kitt - You rocked all the way to the end!

She was an amazing, strong and sexy woman and she will be missed. :(

My kids love her voice and character as "Izma" in The Emperor's New Groove and it is neat to see them enjoy someone so talented who has been performing for over six decades, and was still going strong.

^That's acutally the one of her roels that popped to mind first. She's fantastic as Izma.

Rest in Peace, Eartha :(

Her "Santa Baby" is in my personal holiday mix...all the sadder that she would pass on Christmas....

I'm really sad, but she had rich, eventfull life and great success and acclaim, she was an amazing strong woman right up untill the end.

She's been one of my favourite vocalists since I was a kid. I remember watching her sing 'I want to be evil' on Merv Griffin when I was quite young, like maybe 9 or 10.

It's a tax thing...if you die before December 31st, you still get credit for the entire year.

I read this information earlier and was saddened by her passing.

Too many things I enjoyed her in over the years. RIP :(:(

I disagree. But that doesn't mean anything bad about Eartha. Newmar is more memorable for the role. In fact Lee Merriweather probably tromps both of them and she was only in the movie.

A truly dynamic and talented lady. She will be missed by many, but shall shall live on in those who have enjoyed the great work she has done and in the lives she has touched.
RIP Eartha Kitt :(
