Eaglemoss company gone?

So y’all think Eaglemoss collapsed because an oligopsony?
Probably not a bad question, for sure the market for these things is not huge. Other than “hero” ships few of them were probably huge sellers. Forget the Disco Klingon ships, I’d say easily 2/3 of the original collection was probably similarly not interesting to most folks, you can see why they started repackaging the more popular ships in the new boxes.

And to risk repeating myself, I’m don’t think Eaglemoss did themselves any favors going to the much larger size for the Disco/Picard/Universe ships, people might say “what the heck” and pick up a less popular ship for $25, but not $55. Shoot, lots of people passed on the $80 XL Cerritos, waiting for a smaller $55 version that never materialized.

It's all written here:

A 46 pages statement from the liquidator(18 Aug 2022) can be found.

Summarized causes for the last 24 month, which lead to bankruptcy proceedings:

Rising costs, preliminary lead times and uncertainties with supply chains, bale out of key customers (which lead to bad debts), precipitating ruin of kiosks as sales channel.

At the end of 2021 Eaglemoss was 27 Million Dollars in debt, while earning 725.000 Pounds profit in that last year.

They couldn't pay licences to companies like CBS and invoices from the chinese manufacturer anymore...

Dollars and pounds? Why the mix?

First is Dollars, because international payments(like for chinese manufacturers) are made in Dollars. But the company is British... Take a look at the 46 pages statement.

As low as Pounds stand nowadays, it doesn't really matter ;)

I'm not gonna paw through that. I just thought it was odd too see two different currencies in the same sentence.

The pound this week is ranging between $1.03 and $1.06. Can’t remember when I’ve seen them that close together.

I’ve gotten ships 3D printed - both plain from private sellers and fully painted from GamePrint. It may look great and give you a ship that you’ll otherwise never have but any version of resin is inferior to the stability of plastic or metal.

They are but you have to be picky on your filament to get the details you want, and stability, which adds up unless you want Micro Machines.
