Eaglemoss company gone?

Think I got charged not too long ago for the next special. Guess I just became a minority shareholder or whatever it is when something goes into admin.

I read in a german Sci-Fi Forum they began to refund Paypal payments for preorders since 20.07.

If nothing changes and you paid with Paypal than you should be save. Open a Paypal case...

Indeed. Big difference. Was Eaglemoss even a publicly-held company who had shareholders? Not sure how it works in the UK.

I get the impression that they were what we in the U.S. would consider a privately-held company with investors who became creditors once it went into default/administration, expecting some kind of recompense of their investments following the company's liquidation of all remaining assets. That's provided someone like Elon Musk doesn't come along and buy it all up for pennies on the dollar in an effort to breath new life into it. Weirder things have happened - Toys 'R' Us is making a return here in the 'States and there is still a functioning RadioShack in my town.

^ I'm not too hyped about the "return" of Toys 'Я' Us. It's just a brand name slapped onto the toy department in the back corner of Macy's, and no actual standalone retail stores. I've been to one of the ones they already opened this year, and it was a mess.

Ah, fair enough. Sounds like an In-Name-Only kind of thing. My RadioShack is still a bona-fide RadioShack, though - they have all the wacky rare electronic shit that nobody else has! The place does smell a little funny, though. :D

Well, here's hoping that Eaglemoss fares better, but deep down I sadly doubt it.

Well, I blame that more on struggles with staffing. I'm at least glad to see them come back, as I very much miss that store.

Ben Robinson just tweeted these about an hour ago:

"I am no longer an Eaglemoss employee! so I am finally free to talk about what’s going on. This has literally just happened so I want to say two things. The first is that I am so sorry that Eaglemoss’s communication has been non-existent. It’s terrible and I can only apologise."

"The second thing I need to say is that there are people who are interested in taking over the build ups and the other models. It’s too early to make any promises but people are trying and we’ll do everything in our power to make sure these projects continue. CBS are supportive."

So all may not be lost... at least for the Star Trek ranges.
