Posting as a counterpoint to the "worse episode" thread. This has probably been done before, but I'd like to know which episodes people think were the best of each TNG season. But since many of them were good, I'd like to suggest a choice of the best two episodes. Here's my vote:

1. Where No Man Has Gone Before- I know there were several episodes after this one that are huge fan favorites, but in terms of ideas, the glossy production design, and even despite Wesley saving the ship, this episode is tops for the season on the strength of what I think ST should be.

11001001-Great "concept" story, terrifically produced.

2. Q Who- Season two wasn't as good as season one in MY opinion, but this one is the cream of the crop.

Measure of a Man- is a close second.

3. Best of Both Worlds-LOTS of contenders, but BOBW is really a great episode that is NOT overrated, its the real deal.

Yesterday's Enterprise-One of the best time travel stories ever.

4. The Wounded- The best story of a rogue Starfleet officer? There are a LOT of them throughout all the shows, but this one may be the best.

Family- STNG gets its A, B, C, stories right!

5. Darmok- Slightly ahead of the Inner Light. There really are no gimmicks here, just a great idea and wonderful story of EXPLORATION and first contact.

Inner Light- So good its hard to not watch it twice!

6. The Chase- This story defines ST. Its one of the handful of episodes I thought were great the first time around, and iconic or even legendary as time goes on.

Relics- It has a DYSON SPHERE in it...oh Scotty too...nuff said.

7. All Good Things- Somewhat convoluted but still one of the best time travel type stories ever. Couldn't have ended the series on a better note.

Parallels- The scene with Riker in Borg universe still gives me the chills. The parallel universe theory has its day on national TV.
