E3 2008 - Discuss!

Yeah, the Nintendo presentation at E3 was a bit disappointing. I liked the unveiling of Animal Crossing: City Life and the Wii Music thing but everything seemed like a waste of time. It seemed like they were just showing commercials on the 3 other games they decided to show like the Clone Wars one.

I had hoped they would show something like a new Kid Icarus game.

I could not see any visual difference between the Animal Crossing: City Life on Wii and the original Animal Crossing game on the Gamecube.

^I just followed Engadget's coverage. How do you watch the presentations ?
Gamespot are webcasting, and Nintendo's conference was streaming from the E3 website too... I don't know about Sony, though.

MisterGaribaldi, totally, but aren't they all? It makes me laugh when some stop for applause, and none are forthcoming. It's like the audience are saying "Get on with it, you twat."

All the big websites are doing streaming in one for or another.
GTA on DS... I wonder what it'll be like. Now I can chase cars while IN a car!

Check out the glitches.

Pah. Generic FPS = gaming revolution?

Edit: Although, that was a stonking trailer.

Gosh, a half hour in and all Sony seems to be talking about is it's PAST accolades and Resistance 2 which BTW doesn't look all that great..

Maybe someone can explain it to me, but I'm completely missing the point of WiiSpeak.

We have several of conference phones in my office and a few video setups as well. We've made the mistake of having both on at once (e.g., voice coming through the video conferencing setup AND through the phone) and it results in a great big screechy garbled mess of feedback. Won't that happen with WiiSpeak and audio coming through TV speakers/home theaters as well? Considering much higher-end conferencing setups can't get around this, I very much doubt Nintendo will be able to.

I'm now reading about WiiMusic. Oh dear...a music game for people with an IQ of about 20 that requires ZERO skill that will wind up next to all the other useless "casual" games Nintendo has released. Go Nintendo! :wtf:
