E-Book Pricing Alerts

What's interesting about the Children of Hamln is the timing of the sale. It's basically Star Trek does the Pied Piper. And what makes this interesting is that Ice Cream Man came out in theatres this week, which is also based on the Pied Piper. Somebody timed this sale really well. I'm tempted to grab it.

S&S's Trek ebooks sale page has been updated, even if the prices have not. There's a lot of good modern work (Federation is the sole book from the 90's era, and the rest are more recent).

Be aware that you are better off getting the Twist of Faith omnibus than the Avatar, Book One title, as you'll get the complete first chunk of the DS9 post-series saga instead of just the first half-novel.

EDIT: All prices are now $1.99 for the month for the sale titles.

They arrived and I'm very happy.

I didn't buy the Star Trek Online tie in book but I'm thinking maybe I should.

Damn, I wish someone would mark them down that cheap in the US.
Forbidden Planet’s US shipping is pretty reasonable as these things go. I just ordered the four short story collections plus a fifth hardcover at the same price, and it came to about $45 with shipping, or $9 per book.

Cool, but I'm not really in a position financially to get them right now. If I get into a better place and they're still on sale I'll probably get them.

Well, I wasn’t advising you to buy them, just pointing out that wishing they were marked down in the US is a little beside the point.

OK, I do appreciate you letting me know about that, I had assumed there was no to get stuff from them in the US.

So I need help making a decision, I got enough Kindle points from a bunch of stuff my mom bought on Amazon the yesterday to get a sale Trek book or one of the cheap e-book novellas for free. But now I can't decide between Federation, Doctor's Orders, or DTI: Time Lock. Any recommendations? I've read and enjoyed books by all three (well technically four since Federation is by the Reeves-Stevenses) authors.

I really enjoyed both Federation and Doctor's Orders. Doctor's Orders is an interesting first contact story and I thought it quite humorous. I don't remember much about Federation, but I know I liked it. I haven't read the DTI book.

Doctor's Orders would be my choice

Looks like the sales page has not been updated . . .
It's usually done the first Monday of the month. I'm sure someone will chime in if they spot anything sooner, though.

Rising Son is still just $0.99 in the US, which is an amazing price for that story. It will be interesting to see if The Peacekeepers takes any inspiration from it later in the year.

There perhaps may still be more to come, but here are the new $1.99 ones I'm seeing on the US site so far:

TOS: The Higher Frontier
TOS: The Latter Fire
TNG #64: Immortal Coil
TNG: Indistinguishable From Magic
DS9: Avatar: Book 2
DS9: The Missing
DS9: Sacraments of Fire
VOY #9: Invasion: Book 4: The Final Fury
VOY: Pathways
VOY: The Nanotech War
SCE #29: Aftermath
SCE: Omnibus 3: Some Assembly Required
SCE: Omnibus 6: Wildfire
Seekers 2: Point of Divergence
The Fall: The Poisoned Chalice
Titan: Sight Unseen
Typhon Pact: Paths of Disharmony
Typhon Pact: Rough Beasts of Empire

The S&S site has not yet been updated for November, but I am seeing lower prices on:

The Buried Age
Dreadnought!

More will surely follow.

Edit: The page is now updated. I got The Murdered Sun and Echoes from the Voyager line. For those who do not have them, I highly, highly recommend Millennium (all three books for $1.99) and Plagues of Night/Raise the Dawn.
