No there's perfectly fair. For me it's balanced by how quickly new books drop to £2.99 but then I've already been able to get most of the books I want in previous sales so it's less of an issue for me.
So I just did the conversion, and that apparently works out to about C$5.59. More than I’d prefer for the sales, but for a “regular price” that’s great, and a lot more reasonable than the prices we see here. Just taking some examples from this month’s list that I don’t already have:
Wounds - C$29.99 (£16.05)
Strange New Worlds VI - C$22.99 (£12.30)
Strange New Worlds VIII - C$21.99 (£11.77)
Constellations - C$19.99 (£10.70)
To be fair, the ones that started life as MMPBs usually land in the C$8 - 12 range (£4.28 - 6.42), but that’s still more than double C$5.59 at the high end (and a lot more than the $2 we used to get to pay for the monthly sales). If I look at Lost to Eternity, which was just marked down for you, we have it at C$18.99 (£10.16).
I know that people have mentioned Kindle Unlimited, but that doesn’t help those of us not on the Kindle ecosystem (and I balk at the thought of another subscription anyway). And to add insult to injury, they don’t allow the ST books to be purchased here with Kobo Super Points, even though they do in the US.
I know I shouldn’t complain, but we had it good under the previous owners with the monthly sales, and it stings to have that taken away, especially during our current affordability crisis. I guess our market here is too small for the new owners to care about. So I completely agree with
