E-Book Pricing Alerts

Also new ones on sale for 99p (maybe these are the September deals early) are:

DIS
Fear, Itself by James Swallow
The Enterprise War by John Jackson Miller
The Way to the Stars by Una McCormack
Drastic Measures by Dayton Ward
Die Standing by John Jackson Miller

Picard
Firewall by David Mack

It’s curious that all the Vanguard books are on sale for 99p except the first, Harbinger.

They're all still full price in the US.
It might be helpful if we start saying what country we're in since it seems like a lot of these deals are specific to certain countries.

I am seeing new sales in Canada now but they're all repeats for me - lots of Vanguard and Disco books. I'll keep checking back though because they don't always show up all at once.

So here's the list I'm currently seeing in Canada now that are new this month. All $1.99:

DSC: Drastic Measures
DSC: Fear Itself
DSC: The Way to the Stars
DSC: The Enterprise War
DSC: Die Standing
PIC: Firewall
VAN: Harbinger
VAN: Summon the Thunder
VAN: Reap the Whirlwind
VAN: Open Secrets
VAN: Precipice
VAN: Declassified
VAN: What Judgments Come
VAN: Storming Heaven
VAN: In Tempest's Wake
Star Trek: The Motion Picture Novelization

Sixteen titles, definitely a respectable number, especially compared to last month's six.

But, with my shiny new VPN, I can also accurately see the prices currently on Amazon US too. I have tried to exclude any titles that @tgiokdi mentioned were on sale last month (if I missed any, my apologies). But even with those taken out, there are still a lot more titles on the US side. I'm not entirely sure if all of these are from the "monthly" sales, but here's what I'm seeing right now for the US:

99 cents:

TOS: The More Things Change
DS9: Rising Son
VOY: Seven of Nine
DTI: The Collectors

$1.99:

TOS #49: The Pandora Principle
TOS: Cast No Shadow
TNG #5: Strike Zone
TNG: Day of Honor: Ancient Blood
VOY: The Farther Shore
VOY: Dark Matter: Cloak and Dagger
VOY: Day of Honor: Her Klingon Soul
ENT: Daedalus
DSC: Desperate Hours
DSC: Drastic Measures
DSC: Fear Itself
DSC: The Way to the Stars
DSC: The Enterprise War
DSC: Die Standing
DSC: Somewhere to Belong
SNW: High Country
SNW: Asylum
PIC: Firewall
VAN: Harbinger
VAN: Summon the Thunder
VAN: Reap the Whirlwind
VAN: Open Secrets
VAN: Precipice
VAN: Declassified
VAN: What Judgments Come
VAN: Storming Heaven
VAN: In Tempest's Wake
TTN: Fortune of War
Destiny: Book 2: Mere Mortals
Vulcan's Soul: Exodus
MyrU: Shattered Light
Star Trek: The Motion Picture Novelization

So four 99-cent titles, and 32 $1.99 titles. Again, I don't know for sure if these are all the monthly sales, or if some of them are just the random markdowns that the US sometimes gets, that we don't. But if they are all monthly sales, then it looks like having different sale lists between the US and Canada last month wasn't just a fluke, and may be an ongoing change in direction, with Canada only getting a subset of the US sales each month. (There's nothing currently on the Canadian list that the American list doesn't have.)

As @DWMarch said, I will continue to watch the Canadian side, to see if anything else turns up.

Very cool. My purchases this month:

Myriad Universes: Shattered Light
TOS: Cast No Shadow
VOY: Dark Matter: Cloak and Dagger
SNW: Asylum
DIS: Fear Itself (which I could have sworn I’d already bought before)

Damn there's actually quite a few books I've been wanting to get as part of this month's sales.
I think I might get Firewall, Somewhere to Belong, and Asylum.

I have Asylum in my Kobo cart. I plan to get it. My library is horrible about getting Star Trek books.

There are a lot of Star Trek eBooks on Amazon UK for £2.99.

Also lots of Star Trek eBooks for £2.99 in ePub on Kobo.

That's been the case for months now. Pretty much every novel outside the new releases and whatever is on sale that month is priced at £2.99 on Amazon.

Starting to see some 99p deals in the UK already:

TOS
Child of Two Worlds by Greg Cox
Troublesome Minds by Dave Galanter

TNG
The Dominion War Book One - Behind Enemy Lines by John Vornholt
The Dominion War Book Three - Tunnel Through the Stars by John Vornholt

DS9
The Dominion War Book Two - Call to Arms by Diane Carey

I did check and book 4 of The Dominion War miniseries hasn’t (yet) been discounted.

I just picked up TOS: Errands of Fury: Demands of Honor and Myriad Universes: Infinity’s Shadow for $1.99 each on Amazon U.S.

Update: Oh, and also Articles of the Federation!

— David Young

So this appears to be the Canadian subset for the month, based on what's on Amazon.ca:

TOS: Child of Two Worlds
TOS: Troublesome Minds
TNG: Dominion War: Book 1: Behind Enemy Lines
TNG: Dominion War: Book 3: Tunnel Through the Stars
TNG: Genesis Wave: Book 1
TNG: Genesis Wave: Book 2
TNG: Genesis Wave: Book 3
DS9 #27: A Stitch in Time
DS9: Dominion War: Book 2: Call to Arms

A Stitch in Time confuses me a little, because it's not listed on the S&S sale page for the US? If the US doesn't actually have that for sale this month, then this would be the first time since they stopped having our sales be the same, that we got one that the US didn't.

So out of the US's 20, we get 8 of them this month, plus 1 extra.

Since I check the prices on Amazon, one thing I noticed this time is that all the sale items that the US gets that we don't, are all part of Kindle Unlimited here. But not all Star Trek books are on Kindle Unlimited. So are they adding the "extra" titles to Kindle Unlimited here instead of marking them down? Or are they just not marking down items if they happen to be on Kindle Unlimited? I never really paid attention to this before, but it's something that I will look at again when the November sales come up. And it doesn't really help those of us who read on Kobo, anyway.

This is the third month of the differing sales, and for the third month in a row, I don't need any of the ones they actually gave us, but there are a couple on the US list that I would have got if I could.

I had all of the books for this month but than this one hit and had to snag it immediately! I wish all of those Trek Making Of books were available on Kindle but Wrath of Khan is still my fave Trek flick so I'm more than happy to snag this one.
It's frankly no substitute for the gorgeous hard cover, but for 4 bucks I'm happy to have a digital companion. (It's not much fun to try and read on my phone though.)
