And I paid £4 for the Nexus novella. Should have waited.

It's still showing on sale when I look (both the Canadian and American sites).

Of course, I bought the Destiny omnibus a while back, so unfortunately won't be able to take advantage of this one.

Huh. I see the deal on the Canadian site, but not the US one.

I guess that makes sense... when an eBook is on sale in the US, but not here, when I look at it on the American site, I see the non-sale price because my IP address is Canadian. So I guess the sale is probably Canadian only, so when @JoeP and I look at the American site, we see the sale price based on our IPs.

    Sorry.

But then by that logic, shouldn't the Canadian site show me the full price as well? I'm located in the US.

I'm not sure if Amazon Canada does the same kind of geolocating? Do you get a big annoying popup saying "Shopping from the US?" every time you go to Amazon.ca?

(Actually, I just tried the Amazon.com home page, and I don't get the annoying popup anymore. There's just a little item on the left of the menu bar that says "Deliver to Canada".)

Anyway, I'm not sure if the .ca site adjusts the prices based on IP or not. We just recently got Prime Video, so our site seems to be years behind yours at the best of times! :)

Seeing as how it's an ebook (no shipping charge), it'd be a better deal for me to order it from the Canadian site even if the US one did have the sale. CA$1.99 is about 20% cheaper than in USD$, no?...

I'm honestly not sure if Amazon will let you buy a Kindle book outside of your own region. But if they did, then yes, $1.99 CAD would only cost you about $1.56 USD with the current exchange.

Welp, guess we US-dwellers are just SOL, then, because the price at the US page is still $14.99.

Interesting. Except for The Buried Age, I literally did not know those existed.

Query: If I already own 'Sorrows of Empire' full novel, is it necessary to read the novella in the Mirror Universe Vol. 1 collection?

Nope, the novel adds new chapters to the novella, but doesn't make any changes to the original story.

Mostly true, as there weren't major changes to the narrative, but @David Mack has tweaked the existing material a bit. From my interview with him for Unreality SF in 2009:

But I agree that It won't be necessary to read the novella if you have already read the novel.

I managed to time my reading perfectly, I just finished up Sight Unseen, the last TNG/Titan book before Prey, on Saturday. Does anyone know off hand when the sales usually start? I thought some of them had actually started before the first of the month.

July's sales have been posted, which will be the Gateways series:
    http://www.startrekbooks.com/c/ebookpromojuly2018

I have seen them start a bit early at least once before, but from what I remember it's been on the day the site says.
