Are there any good redesigns of the DY-100/SS Botany Bay that depict the vessel as being something made in the actual 1990's and with the tech available at the time?

Given what the dy100 was supposedly capable of doing, suspended animation, crewed interplanetary travel, there was no equalivent in the 1990's.

I think you are looking for Phil Davies’ redesign of the DY-100 and Winchell Chung’s model of it, under the “Submarines in Spece” section here:

I would have had no problem seeing this design replace the original in the remastered “Space Seed” episode.
