NBC has plans to spin-off the popular The Office (US) character Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) to see the beet-lover return to run his farm full time to ineptly run a bed and breakfast.

This could be one of the greatest spin-offs of all time if done correctly.

I agree, but that's a big "if".

I love Dwight, so I would give it a shot.

We all know it's coming...but if they're shopping this idea around does that mean the end of The Office? Have they officially announced that this is the last season?

I'm not sold on the idea of a Dwight show. As was already said he's good as a B plot, a part of a greater story with an ensemble, but I don't think they can create a whole story worthy of a series just for him. Personally my favorites are Jim and Pam but I wouldn't want a series about them either.

Horrible idea that they floated around years ago and it was shelved, hopefully they will do it again.

The only way I can see this working is if they do a 13 episode The Office season in the fall and end the show, and then have this spinoff for the spring.

I think it would work better if Dwight were only to appear when he'd normally be at the Schrute farm . . . like nights and weekends when he's not at The Office
he could be on both shows :P

I would argue the percentage isn't even THAT good. For every Frasier there's the Tortelli's, Joey, AND After MASH.
