DW returns Aug 27: Zap2It.com

About a week or two earlier than i would have thought, but then again Tt would be a bank holiday weekend in the UK.

Thats great I thought september also the sooner the better.

I'm going to try and be good and avoide previews this time. I haven't even read the names of upcoming episodes. Although I do know the title for the next ep.

It's a surprising start date for BBC America, because based on the past (like Memorial Day) they would take a week's hiatus the following weekend due to Labor Day. So maybe BBC America isn't going to do the holiday hiatus again.

just once I wish we could get our news from the BBC itself.

Remember, though, this was BBC America's party, so it made sense for them to announce their airdate. For all we know BBC One might show it later. I still find it odd that they'd show Doctor Who and Torchwood at the same time. Of course, if you think people in the UK are brassed off about having to wait a week for Torchwood ... so I doubt that'll happen with DW.

The BBC itself? They'll confirm airdate about a week before broadcast like they always do. They're stuck in the 1970s. But the fact is Aug 27 is BBC America, so Space in Canada will follow suit (meaning here we'll have DW and Miracle Day playing back to back!) and unless they've decided to abandon the synchronized broadcasts, it'll air on BBC One too. Probably with a Sarah Jane Adventures chaser for the six weeks afterwards.

BBCA airs Dr Who Saturdays at 9PM Eastern and repeated Midnight (6PM Pacific and repeated at 9PM Pacific). Starz airs Torchwood at 10PM Friday Nights, I believe

Starz airs

Just saw the trailer and now we get a premiere date. I'd say that's a good day for Doctor Who Fandom. The rest of the season looks interesting, if a bit too chaotic.

I guess as long as the BBC remeber to air Doctor Who before BBCAm, it shouldnt be a problem.

As for the trailer, it seems the Doctor has gone quite mad, saving Hitlers life and all.

On the second issue, maybe the Doctor was always meant to save Hitlers life, as long as its before Hitler kills himself in the bunker, the history & time goes on as normal. That said, saving Hitlers life is the kind of thing that can make time go funny.

That said this half of the sereis looks better than the first.

As for a 27th August air date, it seems a bit early, figured they would wait till the 2nd saturday in Septmember,

Is it just me, or does the episode 11 clip remind you of
The Shining? The hotel just reminds me of the Overlook. I know they're not the same, but still, it puts me in that frame of mind

This is actually way earlier than I'd expected; I was thinking they were going to hold back the second half until the beginning of October. Excellent!

This season looks too busy. I hope SM can redeem this season. Going so well until the last episode.

Looks good, but do we really need the Doctor worried about his impending death again so soon after the specials had a similar arc? Although, that was build up to the regeneration, and this is a bit different...

Nice image, but based on the trailer it looked like the Eye-Patch woman was going to be the big bad of the next part of the season. She should have been in the image instead of the guy on the Left (Already forgot the alien race).

I think that was the joke. ;)

The trailer does look awfully busy. Mr. Moffatt seems to enjoy reusing previous story costumes and aliens as much as possible and injecting them into the story whether it makes sense or not... I suspect that many of the aliens are mere cameos as they were in "The Pandorica Opens", showing up to suggest that EVERYTHING IS REALLY REALLY BAD only to have a follow-up featuring one Dalek chasing them around, instead of the Legion of Doom (sic).

Anyway, I'm still ery much looking forward to the continuation. And then, hopefully, to a season 7 where the universe CALMS DOWN for a bit!

Mark

PS - The new coat is fetching, no?
