Dual Monitor Question

Okay, so I've got a new TV I've been using as a second monitor to watch some movies lately. It's hooked up through a VGA cable.
Anyway, recently, when I've tried to put something in fullscreen on my TV, anything I click on the laptop screen makes whatever is in fullscreen go back to normal size. Anything I can do to fix this?

Both monitors are installed correctly on the display adapter?

Are the settings on aspect ratio on your tv correct?

What application are you using? I've noted that it does that on my computer with some applications and not others. VLC doesn't mess up like that.

Firefox is doing it right now. It's just really annoying.

Oh, I had assumed you meant video applications. Huh. You running XP?

Yes. I know IE will go full screen though. That's weird.

I've only encountered a couple applications that exhibit this, Quicktime may have been one. You should research the problem on an app-specific basis.

I have this issue with flash video from Youtube and such, it's rather annoying.
