I'm not sure of it's low-res, or some sort of filter to make their faces look like a painting.... But yeah, now that you mention it, it's hard to not see it.

I like the concept of that cover, the execution though is pretty rubbish, hopefully it's not the final version, having the low res versions of Kira and Quark there with the high res everything else is jarring.

Yup. Need to maybe go back to paintings. The composition is ok for a cover, but the bad composite is giving Kira acne. It must be placeholder.
