DS9 should get Remastered

I've noticed that movies and TV shows mastered from film upscale very well on my blu-ray player, whereas shows transfered to videotape, like Trek, Alien Nation, Due South, and the 1980s Twilight Zone look positively godawful. I'm no video tech guy, but my own theory is that the VHS noise that may not be that visible in standard definition screws up the upscaling process and makes it look ten times worse. Even the home movies I transfered to DVD look really bad on my blu-ray.
Well part of it is probably that TV shows need to be either inverse telecined or bobbed for deinterlacing. This process doesn't always work out very well and you can see stutters or weaving (interlacing) in the result. And of course the Trek DVDs, TNG-VOY in particular, are pretty grainy and dirty transfers. Upscaling is a pretty nasty process overall too. It's impossible to recreate picture detail that simply isn't there, and you're also enlarging the grain/noise.
