DS9 or Any other Trek in 3 Dimensions

The other day I was reading an article about 3D TV. The writer predicted that 3D TV would flop for various reasons. One of the reasons is because people would be annoyed by watching most available programming, like newscasts, in 3D.

I think the same thing would be true due to how most of the screen-time of DS9 and the existing Trek shows and movies play out. The majority of Trek's screen-time is devoted to people standing around or sitting around and talking at each other. That does not make for good 3D viewing.

Space battles or space travel sequences of Trek would be cool to see in 3D, but for it to be worthwhile, Trek would need a whole lot more of them, and they'd need to last for a whole lot longer than they have thus far.

In regards to Abrams' Trek, it would be nice if he used 3D instead of constantly shaking the camera in an immensely annoying way. :scream:

It also would be nice if they would hire some writers, or better for the studio to fire his ass and get some other people to work on the sequel being he is an overrated lazy ass bum.

Anyways....

No. Some things look great in 3D, but Star Trek was never about the special effects, it was about the story and people in 3D don't add anything new.

EDIT - Also glasses are fun for a movie for a little bit, but watching TV with them in 3D would be too much. I like watching several episodes of a show in a row, #D would bother me after a bit.
