I voted outstanding. I thought Quark was written perfectly. Extremely amusing!

...Yeah, dug this one. A lot. Had the feel of the better comedic DS9 episodes (a good many of which tended to revolve around Quark's scheming and plotting), and enjoyed seeing Pel again.

I finished it. It was entertaining enough for that size story.

I enjoyed this one a lot. The length and tone of it made it feel like one of the better Ferengi episodes of DS9. I always enjoy seeing Quark trying to out-scheme others while not quite seeing their own schemes.

The one thing I found a tad disappointing was that there wasn't more interaction between Quark and Ro. I've always enjoyed that relationship.

Overall a decent read, but I felt that beyond Quark the characterizations were a bit to superficial. I voted average.

For a while I thought that the final swerve would be that Quark never left the Holosuite and the whole chase for the holonovel was part of the program Especially when the "actor" from Vulcan Love Slave appeared.

I never particularly liked the Quark episodes on DS9; I thought he was always capable of being a more nuanced character than that. He's had some great material in the DS9 Relaunch, but this was back to shallow comedy. It was pretty good shallow comedy, but either way, not what I'm looking for in a DS9 story.

Though I did enjoy imagining that the T'Lana in the story is the same T'Lana from the early TNG relaunch.

The idea never crossed my mind. I'm sure there are holoprograms out there just like that but you wouldn't expect it from this kind of entertainment - unless it would've been revealed to be a complete hoax perpetrated by Pel.

Sure, at some point it was obvious that it wasn't going that direction, but for a while I had this idea.

I liked this one. It was so good to be back on DS9. I miss, so much the characters and being on the station and this new station has so much about it that we don't know yet. I hope that we will get more books set here.

Wish there had been word on Vic's status. I want to see him back, up and running in Quark's.

I liked the fun commentary on the con culture and meeting you fantasies in real life. Luckily for Quark T'Lana seems to live up to her alter-ego.

I've just thought of an interesting tidbit - Terry Erdmann's The Magic of Tribbles was the first Star Trek or DS9 reference book to be released as an eBook; now Erdmann has the honor of having been involved with the first original DS9 eBook release as well.
