DS9 In Orbit Of Bajor

Weather it's "The Emissary" or the mirror universe episode I always thought the station looked better in orbit of Bajor. For obviousy plot reasons the station had to move but am I the only one who wished the station could have stayed in orbit of the planet so we had some more pretty scenery?

Well, the budgets were already stretched by the few cases where exterior shots of the station actually matched the internal story - that is, there was the right number of ships of the right type seen docked to the station. This would probably have become even trickier if one had to shoot that footage of guest ships in combination with lighting from the planet...

That said, yes, I'd have loved to see more of the planet, and of the pretty combo of the planet and the station.

The wormhole actually being in orbit of Bajor might have maybe made more sense, too. But I guess the orbs take care of any issues that arise from the "celestial temple" not actually being visible from Bajor.

I think they were just showing off, proving that they could move that great hunk of a space to another area. I'm just surprised how quick the Federation knew how too move it, after all they had only been on the station a short time and they had problems understanding Cardasian computer systems, drive and machinery.

I prefer it orbiting Bajor as well. Gives it a more interesting look. I absolutely love Terok Nor's design, is pretty impressive. But then again I just love anything with Cardassians.

It's an interesting shot when it orbits Bajor. Really gives the feel of the foreboding station hanging over the planet, which is the kind of feeling you'd imagine the Cardies would want to invoke.

Oh, don't get me wrong--Terok Nor is GORGEOUS. But DS9 needed to be guarding the wormhole, and that's a gorgeous shot. Even some of the prettiest screenshots in Star Trek: Online that I'm seeing seem to be DS9 next to the wormhole.

Plus it has a really cool name. 'Terok Nor'. You could say it over and over again - Terok Nor Terok Nor Terok Nor. A real woody sort of phrase, eh? ;)

It DOES have a nice name indeed.

What's also really awesome is that if you look at the scripts for the episodes when Dukat and the Dominion have taken over the station, the station is always named as Terok Nor in the script!
