Driveway U-Turns

^ Exactly. And if they're from that apartment complex...let's just say the odds are that they won't even have insurance.

Here's a new development on this little annoyance...

My fiancee and I were returning from the store, and turned down our street with a car in front of us. I recognized the car as possibly one of the many that uses our driveway to 3-point it. So it wasn't much of a shock that this car then turns...into our driveway...

Since we were also trying to turn into our driveway (what a concept) we were effectively blocking her in. So there we are in an automotive deadlock. I rolled down my window and asked what she was doing, and she replies in a really bitchy tone "I'm trying to turn around." I say back with the same tone "I'm trying to turn into my driveway." To which she says... "So?"

I had a feeling we would end up in this situation sooner or later, but I was foolishly expecting the perpetrator to have some class and at least apologize.

Time to build a moat with a draw bridge. When we're looking for someone to fill the position of bridge troll I know just where to look.

No, after the "So?" I backed up and let her out and she went about her way parking in front of the apartment complex. Sorry, thought that part was implied.

It was one of those situations where you see it coming, but when it happens you're not really sure how to react. And since I'm generally a nice person, my first instinct was to be nice and let her ass out. Apparently her first instinct was to be a bitch.

What gets me was her indignant attitude and how she acted like *I* was in *her* way, and not vice versa.

You should have just stopped your car and gone inside; It sounds petty, but at least having her have to stop hers, get out of her car and come ask you to move your car would have sent a message to her -- stay the hell out of this driveway.

The only reason I didn't do that besides it indeed being petty is that she didn't pull in far enough for us to be fully within our driveway, so stopping the car would have left us nearly blocking the entire street.
