Drinks with...

Not diabetic here...acid reflux. That's why I can't take coffee in real life. Like I said, it's a minor thing compared to what a lot of people put up with, so I'm grateful for that.

^ My brother has it, as well as gall bladder problems... so no coffee, no greasy food, etc., etc.
At least I'm Type 2... not as bad as insulin-dependent.

Saurian Brandy with Scotty in 24th Century. Jimmy Doohan could spin a tall tale or two (I miss him!) and I could listen well into the night to the stories Scotty could tell!

P.S.- Glad it was moved. I almost never go into Voyager and would have missed it.

Maybe not Saurian Brandy-just a good Scotch with the great Mister Scott.
I can get a good Scotch... but I can't talk with Jimmy any more. Besides, it's MY fantasy drink... so... yeah... nya, nya!:rommie:
Like sbk1234 said, it is really more about the company than the drink.

Jimmy Doohan had some very real nightmarish tales he could tell, I understand, from the Normandy invasion when he went in with his fellow Canadians.......but here, I was speaking of "Scotty".

And yeah, I miss him too.

Becuase of my medications, I'm not allowed alcohol, but assuming Bashier or McCoy could cure all my needs for meds, I would still try some blood wine, and Chateau Picard. I am also really curious about canar. I like a good, thick syrupy drink.

Ha, you and me both--would be nice if we could be cured of our various ailments! ;)

(Though in my case, I must say that although I complain a bit, I am a very fortunate person and really have little to complain about beyond missing out on certain foods.)

As for kanar--I dunno. For some way, I always imagined it tasting the way a Guinness smells. Except with the consistency of maple syrup. I may love the Cardassians, but I'm not sure I could take THAT!
Diabetics?

"Hi, my name is Sector 7 and I'm a diabetic." :vulcan:

Not diabetic, although my father is, so it runs in the family. Me? I had a little heart attack a few years ago on LeVar Burton's birthday. My heart is now doing fine, but all the medications I'm on to keep it fine wouldn't agree with alcohol. Even the stuff that's supposed to be good for the heart!
Fortunately I was never really a drinker, so it's not that big a deal for me. I really miss red meat and fatty foods a whole lot more!

We were both combat veterans, so we shared many a tale. I had recently come home and he liked hearing more current tales of mine. I liked hearing how it was in his day. Jimmy was also a friend to me when I was in Hollywood and needed one badly.

I'd get soused on kanar with Dukat, Damar, Garak and Weyoun (no weapons allowed so as to avoid bloodshed). Of course Weyoun and I, being Vortas, would stay completely sober, the better to be enterained by the antics of the other three.

Throw Worf in there, too.

Wow, this thread is so surreal. I am also diabetic. But before I was diagnosed I once worked as Jimmy's bodyguard back in the '80's. After work we had to drive him to the airport and stopped in a restaurant on the way and had drinks. It never occurred to me to even notice what he drank but I'm pretty sure I was tossing back a few 7&7's. I think he was drinking bourbon and rocks. He told us about his ex-wives and showed us pictures of his dogs. Really nice guy. I, too, miss him.

I think I'd have an ale with Riker. A real, Earth-brewed ale like he has in Lower Decks. And maybe we'd shoot pool while we talked. He seems like that kind of guy.

Anything so I could drink with 7 of 9 and T-Pol to let them get me drunk and take advantage of me.

I'd be very interested in having Bloodwine just to see what it' like.

For a drinking buddy I wouldn't mind Jake Sisko as of the end of DS9 since we would be around the same age.

I think it would have to be something from Chateau Picard and I would love to sit down with Q. Talk about tales....
