No, not really, I love the Enterprise!:D

I am referring to the piece of music that has gotten out. It's the music from the trailer. Thumpin' tune man!! I'm on the edge of my seat the whole time listening to it. This film is gonna rock on so many levels, including the music.

Can't say where I found it at but lets just say it's out there. The pace, the tone, the little touches. Awesome piece of music!!!

Who says the trailer music is actually in the movie?

I did like the trailer music, though. Very epic.

That's Brian Tyler's music from "Children of Dune."

If the movie is "In-The-Can" why at this point, are They using somebody else's music?

(EDIT: my bad also...thought OP meant the new Superbowl spot.)

Im 99% Sure that when the "old" Full Length Trailer was released back in November, the film wasnt anywhere near "In-The-Can", as I remember either JJ or Orci saying "It's amazing we were supposed to have a Xmas deadline" as they ended up working on it till Late Dec/Early Jan iirc.

Of course, the OP is kinda vague, could mean the new Superbowl trailer, which sounds like it could be the original score, but seeing as its so short a piece (less than half the 30 seconds) its anyones game as to what it is.

EDIT: Do'h! Down with the Enterprise is a piece of music that was used in the full length trailer. My Bad.

"Down with the Enterprise" was also used in the trailer.

I think Nick Phoenix himself posted a link to this same thread back in November.

The score is typically the last part of the film to be done, as the composer has to wait until nearly everything else is finished before he can start to map out the music which accompanies it. Gioacchino was probably working on it at the time the trailer hit the theaters.

It's a catchy piece of music. As catchy as the TOS fight music. Can't help but finding myself humming it sometimes (when alone :) ).

Wow. The music sends shivers down my spine. It's terrific!

Ditto! I was humming it in the shower the other day. Great piece if music.

The superbowl tv spot music (in the second half of it) reminded me of that garbage Nemesis trailer. Ie... lots of quick flashes without any theme or subtlely, mixed in with generic, forgettable, repetitive 'dramatic' music and predictable "The future begins"/"A generations final journey begins".

I loved the tv spot but the music wasn't so great this time around.

There was music?

Yes, there was music.
A remixed "War Begins" from Dune for the trailer called "Down With The Enterprise".
It's an updated version by some composer, probably no good, since he's working for J.J. Abrams, cause as we all know, J.J. Abrams doesn't know how to choose anybody for anything. Michael something or other. Ah, who cares, this movie will tank so badly this Michael guy will never get any work again and fade back into obscurity.

The theatrical trailer for the movie is a mix of "Down with the Enterprise" by Nick Phoenix, interspersed with "The War Begins" from Brian Tyler's "Children Of Dune".

The War Begins sounds like it was an almost direct take off of the Children of Dune cue, but both work almost seemlessly in the Trailer.

Go to www.nichphoenix.com to listen to the piece.
