Don't give money to the last Jedi remake projects

No movie, book or poem that was named "The Last ..." anything, was ever any good. The lack of creativity in the title says all about the thought that went into the work.

disclaimer: I liked the movie even if I don't think it was good.

Star Wars episode titles all hark back to the classic Saturday-afternoon serials that originally inspired Lucas; serials that made for a fun diversion but really weren't any good.

There are some fanedit projects in development that delete, recut and reformat parts of the movie, that should be a *dramatic* improvement from the theater cut.

But they're usually one person's or a small group's passion project that they devote themselves to. Not people begging for money to make it.

That said, a fool and his money are soon parted.

Wow, I feel sorry for anyone who is actually gullible/naive enough to donate to one of these and actually expect something to happen.

There is always one...

I have seen a ton of fanedits that improve the original product, including a perfect cut of Final Frontier, and Prometheus, and the cleanest cut of A New Hope that has ever existed. I'm not endorsing this money grab nor "remake" idea, but there are definitely fanedits in the pipeline for the Last Jedi that I am *greatly* looking forward to.

Wow. I would totally believe that some pissed off fans somewhere would try to crowdsource some fan film that's "The movie THEY wanted". Claiming the director is the one behind it, did anyone actually fall for this?

It's like the recuts of Phantom Menace. If the underlying script is bad no amount of recutting will fix it because all you can do is take things away and move them around a bit.
