Sooooo... It looks like that's the set as built. It's probably pretty hard to do an alternate that fits in the actual shuttlecraft. (And makes more sense as a vehicle anyway.)
The only problem I'm running into in this airlock type setup is that the lower inner door doesn't have adequate room to fold outward without colliding with the exterior shell. I'll have to come up with a solution for that.There's also the disprepency between the upper doors of the exterior prop (they slide in and then sideways) and the upper doors of the internal set (simple pocket doors).

No kidding. Not TOS's most practical set. (Which is why I never have a problem when people dink with it.)Looking at those moulded plastic seats, I have to wonder how comfortable they would be for long shuttlecraft journeys. Or at least, how sweaty they would get![]()
